Foundry products and technical expertise for New Zealand’s molten-metal industries

Hibiscus Solutions’ history began in the molten-metals industry.

Metcast Services was founded in 1997 to deliver products and technical expertise to New Zealand’s molten-metal industries. Since then, the business has developed strong relationships with foundries, international manufacturers and specialist supplier networks.

Today, Metcast Services provides foundry consumables, foundry hardware and software, and metallurgical consulting as part of Hibiscus Solutions and the wider Kaikaha Group.

Where Our Story Began

Before Hibiscus Solutions expanded into food, nutraceutical, cosmetic and other specialist sectors, the business was built around Metcast Services and New Zealand’s foundry industry.

Metcast was established by Mike Alston in 1997. From August 2000, together with shareholders Steph Ferguson and Gordon Muldrew, the business grew into a leading supplier of foundry products across New Zealand.

In 2013, Hibiscus Agencies was acquired and subsequently rebranded as Hibiscus Solutions. Metcast Services was later merged with Hibiscus Solutions Limited, part of the Kaikaha Group, in 2019.

The technical knowledge, supplier relationships and commitment to dependable service established through Metcast remain an important part of the Hibiscus Solutions story.
